It's just in the rumor stage but there are reports that the incomparable Quentin
Tarantino may be interested in directing Yucatan, the final screenplay written
by Steve McQueen. This just may be kismet
- no one else would honor Steve's vision of Yucatan more than Tarantino. Not
only is he a cinematic genius, he is also a true McQueen fan.
Unfortunately for this project, after the huge worldwide success of "Inglourious
Basterds", Tarantino is in exceptionally high demand. Let's keep our fingers
crossed! We'll be sure to update as we have more information.
Some Tarantino/McQueen Trivia:
*The Tarantino-directed portion of the movie "Four Rooms" is a quirky tribute
to Alfred Hitchcock's "The Man from the South" episode originally starring Steve
McQueen and Neile Adams (McQueen). Quite possibly the best Hitchcock
episode ever made.
*In Tarantino's movie "Death Proof", the license plate on the Chevy Nova, driven
by Stuntman Mike, is JJZ-109. This is the same license number used
for the Mustang in the movie Bullitt.
